Riley has letters for her bedroom too!

Several years ago, actually before Samantha was born, I painted Samantha's initials for her bedroom.  It's only right that I also do it for Riley's bedroom! They make great keepsakes!  I spent much longer getting these done unfortunately!  Riley, I hope you grow to like these!

Finished Product!  The designs on the letters match Riley's room decor!

New project!

I found this craft on Pinterest!  It's a yarn wreath!  I've got one completed, and have started another!

This step took a lot of time! Some people have used straw wreaths.  I wonder if that takes less yarn or if it doesn't require as much attention to neatness?  I may have to try that!  Plus, I think it'll give it more volume!

Cute!

Riley's footprint tile!

Riley has her footprint tile!  I painted one for her sister, Samantha, when she was the same age!  Well, it actually took me longer to finish Samantha's, but I did take her footprints at the same age! :)  I think it's a great keepsake!  The design matches her bedroom!

Sketch!

Mirror Project

I got this mirror from my sister's old dresser set!  She wasn't going to use it, so I decided I would try and
re-stain it!  Now this was at least 3 years ago!  I finally started sanding it yesterday!  The first photo is what it looked like before.  An off white color.  The second photo is the beginning of the sanding.  I would have taken the glass out, but it's pretty secured in there! Stay tuned for further pictures!

Wedding Platter!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Litton!  What a beautiful wedding and reception!

I got the design from Sarah's bridal shower invitation.  It's a washed background of lighter yellows to darker yellows.  The polka dots are washed as well.  The blue ribbon came out pretty good.  I'm glad it didn't come out darker.  I didn't want it to stand out much more then this.  I believe you can click on the picture for a closer look!

Happy Wedding!

It's been a while since I've done writing like this! I'm so glad it came out! The flowers were done in a wash of pink and the lettering in dark brown. Congratulations Epi and Samantha on your upcoming wedding day! May there be many cherished memories to come!

Ornaments, Ornaments, and more Ornaments!

Detail! This is a paisley print I did for my friend, Bonnie!

I like to paint detailed things. It takes a while sometimes, but it's usually worth it!

The pencil sketch!

To my friends, Amy, Ryan, and their new baby to come!
Amy loves monograms!

Retro Flower Ornament! This one took me over 4 hours!

The polka dot flowers are fun, huh?!

This ornament was for my friend, Ashley!

This ornament was done with the "wash" technique! So much easier and faster then painting 3 or more coats per color! I painted this for my Grandma and Grandpa!
I love it!

Pink and brown! What a pretty color combination! I painted this for my Great Grandmother! I hope she likes it! The background is a wash of 2 shades of pink, and the branch and flowers are done in dark brown!

The branch and flowers spiral around the entire ornament!

Fairy Plate! This birthday child wanted a pink plate with a number 9, and a fairy on it! The fingerprints are the balloons wrapping around the 9, and the bunch of balloons the fairy is holding.

Here's a close-up of the fairy! Awww!

This birthday child wanted a beach scene! The sky was done with a sponge!

The final product with the fingerprints! I turned the fingerprints into a sun, birds, cloud, fish, seashell, and a crab! Sorry the picture's turned sideways!

October Birthday Plates

I decided to add a twig as part of the letters in the name and in 'Happy Birthday'! This adds some fun to the letters! Don't you think? Later, I'll create some pumpkins, leaves, and apples out of the fingerprints!

Now this is definitely a fall birthday plate! It's a pumpkin! The fingerprints will go inside of every other letter in 'Happy Birthday'!

"Tangled" Theme

Well I received a request for a "Tangled" them birthday plate! What do you think? Here are the photos of the different stages: The sketch, unfired and without fingerprints, and fired with fingerprints and names! Yes, that's her hair along the sides of the plate!

It's about time! A canvas painting!

I started this canvas painting a long time ago! I'm copying the design off of a pillow I have! I will start posting pictures of the different stages of the painting!

Color Me Mine Birthday Plate

Hello Kitty! The white cat doesn't stand out too much on the white background, but not too bad! Sometimes the birthday boy/girl requests a theme for his/her birthday plate, and I get to paint something like this!

I have a "Tangled" theme coming up soon, so check back later!

Twin Birthday Plates

This was the first time I painted dogs on a birthday party plate! What do you think?
